Many repairs — tune-ups, Windows reinstalls, software fixes — are done the same day. Most others take 2–3 days, or a little longer if a part needs to be ordered. Tune-ups and software repairs are often faster.

The $25 diagnostic tells you exactly what's wrong and what it costs to fix. If you decide not to go ahead, that's all you pay.
